The Invincibles - special A3 size art print
We are happy to present, The Invincibles, our special A3 size art print, illustrated by Roy of the Rovers artist David Sque, and featuring North End legend Fred Dewhurst.
Printed on heavyweight, 330gsm Ivory art card, our A3 size print celebrates North End’s amazing campaign of 1888-89 – the season they entered the record books and carved their name into sporting history, forever to be called – INVINCIBLE!
As all Prestonians know, North End won the inaugural Football League that season without suffering one defeat, and went on to win the FA Cup without conceding a single goal – a record that still stands today, some 126 years later!
Local lad Fred Dewhurst was one of many star players that season, and cemented his own special place in North End folklore by scoring their first ever goal in the Football League. He also scored the first goal in the FA Cup final versus Wolverhampton Wanderers, and as winning captain received the trophy on behalf of his club – not a bad season at all!
The Invincibles art print is taken from the front cover design of our forthcoming graphic novel (due in 2016), Preston North End – The Rise Of The Invincibles, and all profits from the sale of the print will go towards the book’s printing and publication costs. We hope you like it, and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support of our project, and especially Preston North End for their kind permission to use the club’s badge.
The print is priced at £10.99 (unframed), and is available online at: http://www.invinciblebooks.co.uk/art-print/
It is also currently available at the Heartbeat reception, next to Finney’s, and in the Baby Beat shop at Royal Preston Hospital. 50% of the profits of any print sold via these will go to their charity.
